Support Our Events

Throughout the year, Ellesmere Rotary organises a range of fundraising events that bring the community together while raising money for worthwhile causes. By attending, participating or volunteering at these events, you can help us continue supporting local charities, community groups and individuals in need.

We adopt a number of different approaches to fundraising. Firstly we have our standard and regular fundraising events which include, or have included, the Regatta, the Tree of Light, and, of course, our Bookshop. All of these help us raise monies in support of local good causes.

When natural disasters occur, we may look to cause specific fundraising either through putting on ad hoc fundraising events or by holding street collections. These, as with the recent (2026) relief appeal following the Nepal floods, are designed to provide a trusted channel for the local community to contribute.

For longer term projects, such as our support for a school in the Gambia we may collaborate with other Rotary Clubs and/or pursue matching grant funds from our Rotary District and from Rotary International through our own global Rotary charity, the Rotary Foundation.

As part of a global organisation we will also old fundraising events in support the major international humanitarian projects, such as the eradication of Polio, that are coordinated through the Rotary Foundation.
