Local Youth Leadership and Development

Our youth leadership and development initiatives provide young people with opportunities to challenge themselves, meet new people and gain experiences beyond the classroom. Whether through leadership programmes, educational activities, community projects or personal development opportunities, participants are encouraged to develop confidence, communication skills and a sense of responsibility.

These experiences help young people discover their strengths, overcome challenges and gain a greater understanding of the positive impact they can have within their communities.

Interact’s shelves are stocked with a constantly changing selection of fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, biographies, local history, cookery books, travel guides and much more. Thanks to generous donations from local residents, there is always something new to discover.

We also welcome donations of good-quality books, which help keep the shop well stocked and ensure that more funds can be directed towards supporting local causes.

Ellesmere Rotary is proud to support a range of youth competitions that encourage young people to develop their talents, express their creativity and build confidence in their abilities. These competitions provide valuable opportunities for participants to challenge themselves, showcase their skills and gain recognition for their achievements.

By taking part, young people are encouraged to explore new interests, develop existing talents and gain experiences that can support their personal growth and future ambitions.

The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) programme is designed to help young people develop the confidence, skills and motivation needed to become effective leaders in their communities and beyond. Supported by Ellesmere Rotary, RYLA provides participants with an opportunity to discover their potential, challenge themselves and gain valuable leadership experience.

Through a combination of practical activities, teamwork and personal development, young people are encouraged to build the skills that will support them throughout their education, careers and future lives.

Ellesmere Rotary supports international youth exchange programmes that give young people the opportunity to experience different cultures, build lifelong friendships and develop a broader understanding of the world around them.

These programmes encourage personal growth, independence and confidence while promoting international understanding and goodwill.
