Tree Of Light
How we support the local communitysupporting our local community
Remembering Loved Ones, Supporting Good Causes
Each Christmas, Ellesmere Rotary invites the community to take part in its Tree of Light Appeal – a special opportunity to remember loved ones, celebrate cherished memories and support worthwhile causes.
The Tree of Light has become one of Ellesmere Rotary’s most recognised and valued community projects. Members of the public are invited to dedicate a light in memory of a family member, friend or someone special, creating a beautiful display of remembrance during the festive season.
While the appeal provides a meaningful way to honour loved ones, it also raises vital funds for local charities and community organisations. Over the years, proceeds from the appeal have supported a wide range of causes, including hospices, cancer charities, local food and clothing projects, youth organisations and other community initiatives.
A Community Coming Together
The success of the Tree of Light Appeal is only possible thanks to the generosity of local residents, businesses and volunteers. Every donation helps Ellesmere Rotary continue its work supporting people and projects that make a positive difference in our community.
For many families, the Tree of Light has become an annual tradition – a chance to pause, reflect and remember those who are no longer with us, while helping others in need.
Making a Difference
Funds raised through recent appeals have supported organisations including Hope House Children’s Hospices, Cancer Research UK, local food and warm clothing projects, and Ellesmere Scouts.
Through the kindness of our community, the Tree of Light continues to shine as a symbol of remembrance, hope and support for others.
